When the world's richest man picks a fight with the president of the United States, it's bound to get messy. But what Elon Musk didn't expect?
A digital eye-roll from his own daughter.
The 21-year-old Vivian Jenna Wilson, who has been estranged from Musk since 2020, added jet fuel to her father's already flammable public feud with President Donald Trump by doing what Gen Z does best — posting a video of herself laughing on Instagram, along with some not-so-subtle jabs that sent the internet into a frenzy.
Family Feud, Billionaire Edition
Vivian's post came just hours after Musk accused Trump of appearing in the FBI's unreleased Epstein files via a now-deleted X post that reignited scrutiny over the tech mogul's political alliances and judgment.
Their feud had been simmering since Musk abruptly left his post at Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on May 30. That exit kicked off a week-long slugfest between the former allies, with Musk slamming Trump's signature "One Big Beautiful Bill" as a "disgusting abomination," according to PEOPLE, and Trump firing back with threats to axe Musk's federal contracts and subsidies.
Wilson, meanwhile, watched from afar — and laughed.
'I Do Not Want to Comment,' She Said — Before Laughing
Vivian's Instagram story didn't mention her father by name, but the context was impossible to miss. In one clip, she says, "I do not want to comment," before breaking into laughter, a moment she captioned "I love being proven right," according to PEOPLE.
She followed it with a screenshot of a Threads post that read "Such beauty in life," backed by the satirical pop song "Job Application" by Chase Icon, according to Buzzfeed.
Musk's Politics, Her Punchlines
Wilson has made no secret of her feelings toward her father's politics or his character. According to PEOPLE, she legally dropped the Musk name at 18, stating she no longer wished "to be related to (her) biological father in any way, shape or form."
Since then, she's built a social media following that rivals many influencers and uses it to critique her father's public image. Earlier this year, she told Teen Vogue that Musk is a "pathetic man-child," adding, "I don't give a f--- how much money anyone has."
In the same interview, she even mocked his now-viral moment in which he appeared to give what critics called a Nazi salute, saying, "Honey, we're going to call a fig a fig, and we're going to call a Nazi salute what it was."
Why It Matters
This is more than a family squabble going viral. The Musk-Trump fallout has implications for tech, politics, and public trust — especially as Musk's companies remain tied to government funding and contracts. Meanwhile, Wilson's reaction underscores a deeper generational and ideological rift within American elites.
For political junkies, the feud represents a high-stakes drama between two titans of influence. For Gen Z, it's another reminder that the rich and powerful can be just as cringe as your uncle's Facebook posts.
And for Vivian Jenna Wilson, it's just an average Tuesday.
